Researcher Development Framework Planner
The Graduate School is piloting a new web-based system that research students can use to plan and record their skills development and access researcher training events/resources. We are looking for 10 research students to come and use the new system and tell us what they think.
The session takes place 09:00-12:00 Monday 3rd December 2012 on the main campus. Coffee and cake will be provided and you’ll be able to count attendance towards your own training record.
We are looking for research students on any research degree (PhD, MPhil, EdD, etc.) and in any School/Department. To take part, you must have an active account with one of the following – Facebook, Yahoo!, Google, or Windows Live (Hotmail).

A series of workshops will introduce researchers to new technologies and give examples of good practice and digital professionalism. From creating your own ebooks, managing datasets, running a collaborative blog...researchers at Leicester are using these tools and you can too!
Starting from Monday 8th October a member of the Library Research Services team will be available in the Graduate School Reading Room on weekday afternoons for advice and one-to-one appointments. We can help with every stage of the research process: from finding grants to building your network, organising your references, keeping up-to-date with the latest articles, using Web 2.0 tools, developing a digital profile, data management, collaborating with other researchers, disseminating your research, and providing advice on copyright and open access.
