Happy Easter Holidays!

Easter Postcard from the New York Public Library Collections The Library Research Services Team hope you have a good Easter break. Try to find some time to have some fun alongside doing your research! Our team will be out of the office Friday 25th March - Wednesday 30th March . We'll be back in again on Thursday 31st March. Document Supply & Inter-Library Loan has Changed!

The way you place a document supply and inter-library loan request has changed: You can find all the information on Making a Document Supply Request at: http://www2.le.ac.uk/library/services/documentsupply/making-requests New Procedure: Step one : Please search the Library's collections before placing a request.  We can only supply items not already in stock. Step two: Open the request form and log in with your IT username and password. Step three: Complete the form as directed, giving as much information as possible. Step four: Click on the Submit Request button. Your request will normally be processed within 24 working hours (Monday - Friday), or first thing on a Monday for requests made over the weekend.

Summer Term Workshops

Next term's training workshops is now listed on PROSE and on our page s. Our sessions on EndNote, RefWorks, literature searching and systematic reviews are being repeated. So too are the sessions that cover publishing, data management and analysis, Omeka and database design. New this term: A course on using XML  that will be of interest to anyone working in the digital humanities. An online version of Enhancing Your Digital Profile for distance learners and those who can't make it in person. Chantal Bielmann will be running a four week course on ArchGIS , the software for creating maps and using geographic data.  The workshops are open to all PhD students and are free to sign up to. How to find a Journal Impact Factor

What is a Journal Impact Factor? An impact factor is a measurement provided by Thomson Reuters looking at the average number of citations articles in a particular journal receives.  It is calculated by: The number of times that all items published in a journal in the previous two years (e.g. 2012 & 2013) were cited by indexed publications during the year of interest (e.g. 2014) divided by The total number of "citable items" published by that journal in those two years (e.g. 2012 & 2013) Finding a Journal Impact Factor Go to Web of Science In Web of Science - Click on the link at the top of the page for Journal Citation Reports.
